Our Story
Founded in Manchester, UK, in 2014, Decloak Music has been empowering electronic music producers and hobbyists of all levels to create, perform, and DJ cutting-edge electronic music. With over a decade of experience teaching Ableton Live and electronic music production, we've supported numerous success stories among our students. As of 2024, 95% of our sessions are conducted online, allowing us to connect with aspiring producers worldwide
Meet the Tutors
jack barton - founder and tutor
Jack Barton is a music producer, former DJ, and educator with over 11,000 hours of one-to-one teaching experience in Ableton Live. He founded Decloak Music in 2014 after a decade performing across the UK with Manchester’s long-standing house and techno collective, Micron.
With deep experience across house, techno, garage, and experimental genres, Jack’s approach is hands-on and tailored. His teaching philosophy is simple: focus on finishing music, keep it fun, and build confidence in the creative process. From helping complete beginners take their first steps to guiding artists through their debut releases, Jack’s mission is to make production accessible and rewarding — one session at a time.
phil denton - tutor
Phil Denton is a Manchester-based producer, DJ, and the creator of Zonal Audio — a platform offering sample packs, Ableton racks, project files, and production tools for electronic music producers.
At Decloak, Phil delivers one-to-one lessons in mixing and mastering, Digitakt workflows, and advanced synthesis. With years of real-world experience and a sharp ear for groove and clarity, his sessions are ideal for producers looking to develop their sound with more precision and creativity.
